Run to Remember 11K: Monday, November 11, 2013
“For those who gave everything they had, and ever would have”.
In observance of Remembrance Day The Corner Brook Running Club will host an 11 kilometer run on November 11 to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice and in grateful recognition of Canada’s veterans. We invite everyone to join us in this non-competitive run of reflection and remembrance. A 5K course will also be set for those who prefer to walk rather than run.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help with traffic control, aid stations, etc. If you’re able to volunteer please send us an email.
Registration will take place at Corner Brook City Hall from 12:15 until 12:50. No registration fee. Run starts at 1:00 p.m. Runners are asked to wear a poppy if possible. Traffic Marshal’s may not be available so runners should be alert to road traffic, especially at intersections. Refreshments will be served at City Hall after the run. Note that this is an untimed event. Please also note that all support on the course will end at 2:20 p.m. Please direct any questions to Michael Coyne.
The run will start on Main Street near City Hall, out Riverside Drive, a short spur in toward Port Authority (outbound only), continue to turnaround at turnoff to North Shore. Return to City Hall. Walkers will proceed directly to turnaround point opposite Humbermouth train station.
