New Year’s Resolution Run

When: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012

Where: The YMCA, Lower Level Millbrook Mall

Distance: Approximately 5 K

This is a fun run of along Griffin Drive. If you have resolved to be healthier and exercise more often in 2012 this would be a good place to start! Runners of all abilities are welcome. Refreshments and prize draws will follow the run.    Lace up your Sneakers and Join us! (There is no registration fee)

The CBRC AGM is scheduled for January 8, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Inn & Suites, West Street. All CBRC members are encouraged to attend.

Take the Plunge Annual Christmas Run

Saturday, December 24th. 12:00 noon

Take the Plunge is proud to partner with The Arthritis Society in organizing a Jingle Bell Walk and Run for Arthritis. This is a free run, but anyone who donates $10 will be given a free t-shirt and bells on behalf of The Arthritis Society. Additionally, for every person who pays the $10 registration fee, The Fry Family Foundation will donate an extra $20 to The Arthritis Society. The run is open to anyone who is interested and will consist of a 4K loop around the city beginning at the Millbrook Mall. Post run refreshments will be provided. Hope to see you there at 12:00 at Take the Plunge!

“For those who gave everything they had, and ever would have”.

In observance of Remembrance Day The Corner Brook Running Club will host an 11 kilometer run on November 11 to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice and in grateful recognition of Canada’s veterans. We invite everyone to join us in this non-competitive run of reflection and remembrance. A 5K course will also be set for those who prefer to walk rather than run.

Registration will take place at the St. John the Evangelist Church on Main Street from 12:30 until 12:50. No registration fee. Run starts at 1:00 p.m. Runners are asked to wear a poppy if possible.Traffic Marshal’s may not be available so runners should be alert to road traffic, especially at intersections. The run will finish at the Pollett Building, so runners may want to arrange to get back to their vehicles if necessary. Refreshments will be served at the Pollett Building after the run. Note that this is an untimed event. Please also note that all support on the course will end at 2:20 p.m.
