If you’re a runner in the Corner Brook area, the Corner Brook Running Club wants YOU! Several times a week we get emails asking how to become a member of the CBRC…what are the requirements, what are the fees, is it open the anyone? The answer is…there are no requirements other than having an interest in running…whether you are an absolute beginner or a life-long running ‘addict’. There are no membership fees (at least for now and the foreseeable future) and membership is open to anyone.
The CBRC is, among other things, an advocacy group for runners and the sport of running in Corner Brook. Our aim is to represent your interests as a runners and create opportunities for runners at all levels to participate in the sport…for fun, fitness or competition…..whatever you choose. If you live in Corner Brook or western Newfoundland, and call yourself a runner, just send us your email address and you’ll become a member in good standing of the CBRC. For now, it’s as simple as that.
Don’t forget tomorrow’s Take the Plunge Spring Opener 5K and 2.5K Kids Run. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Tippings Pond in Massey Drive with race start at 10:00 a.m. Registration fee is only $5 for the 5K. The Kids Run is FREE! Keep in mind that the vast majority of runners are not competitive runners, but just want to get out and have fun and be fit, so come on out and run (or walk) this scenic, gently rolling course and have some fun!
